Asher had an incredible story map dedicated to the evolution of the English language. With a myriad of resources and a concise introduction, it was obvious that Asher put in the work. It was a very informative map with easy to read text that went alongside each photo and map utilized, making it seem like a very professional piece of work. I especially enjoyed how user-friendly this story map was and how the navigation bar was also at the top of the page as well as on the side. Some things that stood out to me included:
The extensive chart on the Proto-Eurasiatic page showcases the origin of language in general and the evolution of the language families.
The Germanic Sound Shift and the significance of the reconstructing of the Germanic Parent Language.
I also loved how in-depth the information was. It was very cool to witness how the shifts in each language were sometimes minimal, but how massive each change was in the greater scheme of things.
To conclude, this story map was truly incredible. From the maps and pictures to the texts and resources, it was clear how much work and dedication went into this. Great job Asher!
